The following are SAMPLE itineraries and are listed to give you an idea of the varied Patagonian experiences we can offer.



FAMILY ECO-TRAVEL
 
Explore Nahuel Huapi National Park near San Carlos de Bariloche while staying on an Argentine estancia (ranch) on the shores of a pristine mountain lake

Summary of activities:
· Day at leisure enjoying surrounding hiking trails and water activities on the lake (swimming, fishing, kayaking)

· Ride in a gondola and chairlift to the top of Cerro Catedral for great alpine hiking and spectacular views

· ½ day excursion on horseback to view Andean condors with local bird specialist

· Full-day whitewater rafting on the Rio Manso

· Board a catamaran to cross Nahual Huapi Lake and hike in the temperate rainforest

· Race through treetops during an exhilarating forest canopy experience for all ages

** Consider an extension to Valdez Peninsula for whale watching and a visit to a penguin colony OR to Calafate to see the impressive glaciers of Glacier National Park


ENVIRONMENTAL IMMERSION

Become immersed in the natural environment of Northern Patagonia while learning about the region’s biodiversity with a local ecological specialist.

Stay in three different regions that reflect three distinct ecological regions of Northern Patagonia (a lake-side hosteria in the transition forest, a small hotel located in the temperate rain forest, a remote lodge in an araucaria forest and near extinct volcanoes)


Summary of activities:
· Two days of hiking and exploring the temperate rain forest of Nahual Huapi National Park

· Nightly briefing with resident ecologist and other experts

· Excursion to investigate the vegetation, wildlife, and glaciers surrounding the extinct volcano Mount Tronador with possible overnight in mountain refugio (shelter)

· Travel through the steppe (arid plains of Patagonia) to view condors and other native flora and fauna

· Guided walks through the ancient araucaria forests
 
· Visit to a Mapuche reservation (indigenous population of Northern Patagonia)

· Plenty of free time to explore nature on your own


REJUVENATE IN NATURE

A relaxing respite focusing on the connection with and appreciation of nature; perfect for the traveler already in Argentina and seeking a Patagonian-get-away

· Two three-nights stays at a lovely and intimate lodges surrounded by nature

· Famed lake crossing from Puerto Montt, Chile to Bariloche, Argentina
 
· Four nights near Bariloche enjoying the varied outdoor opportunities of the area including rainforest hiking, condor viewing, kayaking, or rafting

· Two nights in Calafate, Argentina in Southern Patagonia to explore the Perito Moreno Glacier (one of the few advancing glaciers in the world) of Glacier National Park

· Two nights in Puerto Madryn including a boat trip for an up-close experience of the Southern Right Whale off the Peninsula Valdez (a UNESCO designated World Heritage Site)
 
· A day-trip to visit the largest penguin colony on the continent of South America at Punta Tombo
